Hi Steven,

One of my colleagues wrote a piece of software (an energy based method) that 
helps you to quickly identify the active site on a protein in absence of a 
bound ligand. You just need to upload your protein structure at 
http://www.bioinformatics.leeds.ac.uk/qsitefinder/
