Subject: 22.05.21 Two PhD Positions in Computational Chemistry, University of Wollongong, Australia
Two PhD positions are now available in the groups of Associate Prof Haibo Yu 
and Dr Richmond Lee at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Bioscience, 
University of Wollongong, Australia.  

We are interested in developing and applying computational models to 
study complex molecular systems. Potential research projects include:
1. Understand chemical reactivity of catalytic reactions and 
   design novel catalysts.
2. Understand biomolecular recognition processes and computer-aided 
   inhibitor design.
Both projects are carried out in close collaboration with experimental 

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Required qualifications: Masters by Research or Honours Class 2(I) or above 
   in Chemistry, Biophysics, or a related field.
2. Preferred qualifications (optional): 
   Experience in computational chemistry and molecular simulations; 
   Coursework in physical chemistry and statistical mechanics; 
   Experience with Linux/Unix and HPC.
3. IELTS or TOEFL if applicable.

Stipend: $28,854 per year (non-taxable, 2022 rate).
Top-ups are available for exceptional PhD applicants.

Award Duration: Three (3) years full-time with a possible extension of 6 months 
in exceptional circumstances.
