Ai-biopharma is a private Biotech aimed to discover new efficient treatments to unmet human medical needs with a primary focus on small molecule antiviral treatments. Ai-biopharma is looking for a passionate Research modeler & chemoinformatician to join our dynamic medicinal chemistry team based in Montpellier-France, focused on the research and discovery of new medicines against viral diseases. The current COVID-19 pandemic demonstrates the importance of such discovery to combat viruses which pose threats to global society. Ai-biopharma team has extensive expertise in small molecule preclinical drug discovery especially in the area of nucleosides and nucleotides based on its proprietary Chemoinformatic and Artificial Intelligence platform. The company is developing different direct acting antiviral research programs on chronic hepatitis B, coronaviruses and antiviral preparedness. Tasks and responsibilities Within a project team, you will be involved in research support from early-stage drug discovery, optimization of drug structures and properties, to nomination of (pre)clinical candidates. The position implies intense computational chemistry work and will offer opportunities to contribute to the shape and development of a young growing company. The following main tasks will be part of your responsibilities: Chemoinformatics : application of machine learning, artificial intelligence to develop and maintain predictive models. Molecular modeling : application of docking, molecular dynamics approaches. Database: management and update of the corporate database. Participation in various technical tasks in a SME environment needed for the company. Required qualifications and experience Minimum qualifications: PhD in computational chemistry or related field, e.g. mathematics, physics, biophysics. Passionate for chemoinformatics and modeling, hard worker, self-motivated, creative, open to new challenges, flexible adaptable to a fast-paced environment and entrepreneurial personality. Scientific programing skills in python, C++. Comfortable working in Linux environment (bash scripting). Interest in new knowledge and concepts with a good learning potential. Ability to work synergistically within a team. Good communication skills in English. Additional preferred qualifications Postdoc in computational chemistry and/or experience in early-stage/preclinical drug discovery would be an advantage. Knowledge in PostgreSQL databases management. SQL programming. Ability to participate in various laboratory technical tasks in a SME environment. Eligible to the French Jeune Docteur scheme. Knowledge of medicinal chemistry, biology, biochemistry or pharmacology. Good communication skills in French.
