Fribourg, Switzerland 1 Postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Laboratory of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. For more information on the project please check our group website (http://www3.unifr.ch/bio/en/research/bioinformatics/vanni.html) and/or some recent publications (Zoni et al, PNAS, 2021; Zoni et al, eLife, 2021; Srinivasan et al., Faraday Discussions, 2021). The selected candidate will have the opportunity to interact extensively with outstanding experimental labs in Fribourg, Bern, Zurich, Geneva and abroad. The postdoctoral position is initially funded for 2.5 years in the context of an ERC Starting Grant: The molecular dynamics of membrane contact sites. Initial gross annual salary will be 65,000 CHF (approx. 65,000 $). Applicant We are looking for highly motivated, team-oriented independent thinkers. Postdoctoral candidates should have a PhD in physics, chemistry, physical chemistry, biophysics, engineering or a related subject. The applicant should have a background in molecular dynamics simulations of proteins and/or lipid membranes. The applicant should have a track-record of individual and team accomplishments, and he must be able to work independently and possibly supervise PhD students. In general, any previous specific knowledge is less important than strong motivation, enthusiasm for scientific research and problem-solving skills.
