Schrödinger is a science and technology leader with over 20 years of experience providing solutions for atomic-scale modeling and physics-based chemical simulations.

We’re searching for an experienced simulations scientist to work closely with internal and external collaborators using first-principles simulations, molecular dynamics, and machine learning to analyze and model battery materials and processes at electrochemical interfaces. This role will involve in-depth scientific work elucidating key mechanisms and controlling factors in battery materials performance, and running large scale simulation projects on the cloud to generate data for the development of robust and accurate machine learned models. The duties of this position could be performed in our New York or Portland offices.


  • MS or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Physics
  • Expertise in the application of first-principles simulation, quantum chemistry, or solid-state modeling to...
    • anode, cathode, or electrolyte materials
    • solid-solid, and solid-liquid interfaces
    • ion transport
    • analysis of chemical pathways and kinetic barriers for interfacial reactions
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to conduct independent research
  • Proven research track record
  • Experience collaborating on a team of diverse scientists


  • Post-doctoral experience
  • Python programming proficiency
