A position for a Research Associate in Computational Chemistry is
available in the group of Dr. Tatyana Karabencheva-Christova in the
Department of Chemistry at Michigan Technological University, Houghton,
Michigan for a one-year appointment. An extension of the position may be
possible depending upon mutual agreement, performance, and availability of

The research project will be focused on the investigation of reaction
mechanisms of metal-containing enzymes such as non-heme Fe(II)-containing
enzymes, copper-containing enzymes, and matrix metalloproteinases. 

The applicant should have a Ph.D. and demonstrated strong expertise in:
1) QM/MM modeling of transition metal-containing enzyme reaction mechanisms
using ChemShell. 
2) QM/MM MD (umbrella sampling or metadynamics) simulations of transition
metal-containing enzyme mechanisms using CP2K.
The start date will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
