About the Role Zapata Computing seeks outstanding scientists with a background in quantum chemistry. As a quantum applications scientist, you will discover and develop industry applications for quantum computing. You will engage with industry partners to devise innovative quantum computing solutions for challenging problems in collaboration with Zapata quantum software engineers. You will then gather and analyze data on the proposed solution to assess its performance and applicability. Key responsibilities include -Using Zapata computing's software platform to implement code for implementing algorithms and assessing their performance -Authoring scientific papers, patents or technical reports with colleagues -Developing and test code associated to algorithmic developments tailored for near-term quantum devices -Other related responsibilities as needed Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities -Record of creative, high-quality work represented by peer reviewed publications, patents, or code repositories -Excellent presentation and communication skills -Excellent mathematical and computational skills in a scientific discipline -BS in chemistry, physics, or mathematics plus 3 years of relevant academic or industry experience Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities -Prefer Ph.D. in chemistry or physics, or MS with 1 year of relevant industry experience -Track record of developing novel computational or analytical tools -Experience with or exposure to quantum computing Zapata is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
