structure-based drug design or related areas to join our New Yorkbased
team.  This is a unique opportunity to develop and work with
transformative technology in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment.

Areas relevant to our efforts include computer-aided drug design,
fragment-based approaches, molecular modeling, cheminformatics and
bioinformatics, medicinal chemistry, and target analysis and selection.
Specific knowledge of any of these areas is less critical, however,
than exceptional intellectual ability and a record of impact in drug

D. E. Shaw Research is pursuing an ambitious, long-term strategy aimed
at fundamentally transforming the process of drug discovery.  We have
developed a special-purpose supercomputer, ANTON, capable of
simulating biomolecular phenomena that are relevant to the
understanding and potential treatment of cancer, diabetes, and a wide
variety of other diseases.
