Subject: 19.11.26 PhD position in molecular simulations of membrane proteins
The Reuter group is seeking an exceptional computational chemist with experience in molecular
simulations to join us as PhD candidate at the University of Bergen. This is an excellent opportunity
to further develop your skills in molecular simulations and become an expert in simulations of
biological membranes and peripheral membrane proteins.

We are looking for applicants with a master's degree in theoretical chemistry and hands on experience
with molecular simulations of biomolecules. Other relevant areas of experience are simulations of lipid
bilayers, simulations of membrane proteins, simulations with the NAMD package, familiarity with
UNIX/Linux operating environments. Experience in those areas though is not as important as a clear
understanding of the scientific methodology, good collaborative skills, a strong motivation for
fundamental research and excellent grades in relevant subjects. Applicants must be proficient in
both written and oral English.

The research group includes PhD students, postdocs, master students and a software developer
and has a network of outstanding international collaborators. We have access to all the necessary
infrastructure and benefit from the environments of the chemistry department and of the
Computational Biology Unit, a young and international environment counting in total 10 research

To apply for this position you will need to submit the following documents:
(1)	a brief account you research interests and motivation for applying for the position
(2)	the names and contact information of two references, where one is the main advisor of your
