Subject: 19.01.04 Postdoctoral position in biomolecular modeling and computer-aided drug discovery
The Miao Lab at the Center for Computational Biology, University of Kansas (http://compbio.ku.edu) is looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to work on biomolecular modeling and computer-aided drug discovery. Projects in the lab involve computer-aided drug discovery, method development for enhanced simulations of biomolecular recognition, and multiscale modeling of cellular signaling processes (http://miao.compbio.ku.edu). In collaboration with leading experimentalists, the new postdoc will have the opportunity to work on unprecedented simulations and drug design of membrane proteins, which are extremely important targets for treating Alzheimers disease and human cancers. The ideal candidate is expected to have strong publication record in biomolecular modeling and computational biophysics/chemistry. Programming skills (e.g., bash scripting, python and Fortran/C++), expertise in computational modeling (such as molecular dynamics simulations, virtual screening and free energy calculations), and successful experimental collaboration experience are preferred. Applications are accepted until the position is filled as soon as January 2019 or later. The initial appointment is for one year and the contract is renewable upon satisfactory research progress. Salary and benefits will be based on experience, in compliance with KU and NIH standards. KU is an EO/AAE, full policy http://policy.ku.edu/IOA/nondiscrimination.
