PhD Position in Theoretical Chemistry, University of Munich, Germany
The Theoretical Chemistry group of Professor Ochsenfeld at the University
of Munich (LMU) invites applications for a
The research in the Ochsenfeld group focuses on the development and application of efficient, linear-scaling quantum-chemical methods for large molecular systems. These methods are employed to investigate the energetic, dynamic, and spectroscopic properties of systems comprising 1000 and more atoms.
The research of the PhD student will focus on the development of efficient, low-scaling ab initio methods to allow for the accurate determination of electronic excitation energies and the efficient execution of excited state dynamics on modern computing architectures (CPU/GPU).
The project will be part of the COSINE network which requires the close collaboration with other research groups.
We are looking for applicants with a Master degree in Chemistry or Physics and a focus on Theoretical/Computational Chemistry. Fluency in English is mandatory. Due to EU/ITN regulations the applicant must not have resided for longer than one year in Germany within the last three years.
Applications should be addressed until
