Schrödinger K.K. (Tokyo, Japan) is a subsidiary of Schrödinger, Inc., the leading provider of state-of-the art scientific software and services for pharmaceutical and materials research. We are now seeking an Applications Scientist in Materials Science who can provide technical support to prospective customers and existing users while promoting the sale of our products and contract research services. We welcome someone who can work collaboratively and propel projects forward in a team-based setting. We also encourage our scientists to publish papers on any aspects of their research that are not confidential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Introduce our technology to customers and promote their purchase of our materials science software
  • Create application case studies using our software
  • Train and technically supporting our users, including installation and system support
  • Make technical documents
  • Translate technical documents between English and Japanese
  • Deliver oral and poster presentations at conferences, exhibitions
  • Lecture at seminars and workshops organized by Schrdinger
  • Carry out or support contract research service

Requirements:

  • PhD in molecular simulation in materials science or related area
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Traveling between 10% and 30% of the time, otherwise located in our Tokyo office
  • Native Japanese language skills
  • English skills: e-mail, reporting, web meeting/teleconference
