Subject: 17.09.20 POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY IN COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY, NEW YORK, NY, USA
Applications are invited for a postdoc position in computational biology in the Filizola Lab (http://www.filizolalab.org) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in New York City, USA. We are seeking highly qualified candidates with an outstanding record of research using a variety of computational structural biology tools, ranging from molecular modeling, molecular dynamics simulations, free energy calculations, cheminformatics, and enhanced sampling algorithms. This position is supported by a funded project in collaboration with the Coller lab (http://www2.rockefeller.edu/research/faculty/labheads/BarryColler/) at Rockefeller University. The aim of the project is to elucidate structure-function relationships in beta3 integrins that are essential to design/discover effective therapeutics for several disorders, including hematologic, renal, neoplastic, bone, and fibrotic diseases. Ideal candidates would have a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biophysics, Theoretical/Computational Chemistry, or related discipline, and a strong background in molecular dynamics simulations, free energy techniques, and/or enhanced sampling algorithms. He/she is also expected to have expert programming skills and analytical abilities. Proven expertise in computational approaches for drug design such as ligand-based and structure-based drug design, virtual screening, docking, pharmacophore analysis, hit2lead and/or lead optimization is also desirable. Strong communication skills, and an ability to both collaborate with peers and/or train students effectively are required. The position is available immediately.
Qualified applicants should send a CV and at least 2 reference names by email to Dr. Marta Filizola at marta.filizola##mssm.edu. Applications will be considered until the position is filled.NOTE THAT E-MAIL ADDRESSES HAVE BEEN MODIFIED!!!
