Schrödinger, a technology leader specializing in software solutions for life science research and development, is seeking a computational scientist to help lead the development and refinement of methods to characterize the thermodynamics and structure of protein active site solvation. The ideal candidate is a computational scientist experienced in the analysis of molecular dynamics simulations, via application of information theoretic and statistical methods. The candidate should also have demonstrated excellent C/C++ and Python programming skills.

Required qualifications include:

  • Ph. D. or M. S. in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with machine learning and statistical methods
  • Experience in software engineering and software architecture
  • Expertise in functional and objected oriented C/C++ and Python programming
  • Experience in parallel and distributed programming
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Expert in Unix/Linux
  • Ability to prototype and scale pipelines for ingesting data and training models
  • Ability to integrate complex software systems
  • Ability to implement new approaches from papers

Desired qualifications include:

  • General understanding of the physics underlying protein-ligand binding
  • Experience in statistical biophysics, including protein-ligand binding and molecular dynamics simulation analysis
  • Experience with Tensorflow or DeepChem
  • Experience with CUDA
  • Peer-reviewed publications in computational chemistry or computer science
