Subject: 17.03.08 Postdoctoral Position in Theoretical/Computational Chemistry, NYU-ECNU Center for Computational Chemistry, Shanghai
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position jointly in the research groups of
Prof. Xiao He and Prof. William Glover as a member of the NYU-ECNU Center for
Computational Chemistry in East China Normal University, Shanghai. Research projects
include developing and using linear-scaling fully quantum mechanical methods to reveal
the mechanism of excited state dynamics in biological chromophores. An emphasis of
this work is in making direct connection to experiment by simulating observables. To
achieve these goals, we develop cutting-edge computational tools, including Graphical
Processing Unit (GPU)-based quantum chemistry code. More details can be found at (Xiao He) and (William Glover)

Candidates should have the following qualifications:
-Ph.D. in Chemistry or Physics or related fields by the position start date
-Experience with electronic structure and molecular dynamics simulations
-Experience developing code
-Good command of the English language

The ideal candidates will also have expertise in excited-state methods and developing
electronic structure code.

The position is available immediately or upon agreement. Benefits and salary are
competitive. The position term is for 12 months initially, with possibility of extension.

About the NYU-ECNU Center for Computational Chemistry:
The Center for Computational Chemistry is a research institute operated jointly by NYU,
NYU Shanghai, and East China Normal University. The center has a core group of faculty
members who are conducting frontier research in various fields of computational
chemistry, biology, and material sciences. More details can be found at
Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. To be considered, applicants
should email xiaohe[A] (Xiao He) and william.glover[A]
(William Glover) a cover letter with a brief description of research accomplishments and
interests, a curriculum vitae with a list of publications, and the names and contact
