Postdoctoral Position in Computer Aided Drug Design at the University of Notre Dame

The Warren Family Center for Drug Discovery and Development (http://drugdiscovery.nd.edu)
invites applications for a postdoctoral position in its Computer Aided Molecular Design
CAMD) core facility. Together with the director of the CAMD core, Prof. Olaf Wiest,
the successful candidate will work closely with organic, medicinal, and biochemists
as well as biologists from Notre Dame and other research institutions to develop models
used in the design and development of bioactive compounds. Currently, a number of
projects in the areas of cancer, infectious and neurodegenerative diseases as well
as rare and neglected diseases are pursued in close collaboration with experimentalists
from different backgrounds , which allows the rapid testing of the models. After an initial
period, this postdoctoral position could be converted into a staff-level position at the
University of Notre Dame.

Required qualifications
-	PhD in chemistry or a related field with relevant research experience
-	Documented experience with two or more of the tools of computer aided drug design
such as protein modelling and structure prediction, docking/virtual screening,
molecular dynamics simulations, free energy calculations, cheminformatics and
        databases, ADME/Tox and PD/PK predictions
-	Demonstrated problem solving abilities
-	Ability to effectively collaborate with researchers from a variety of
backgrounds (organic and medicinal chemistry, chemical, molecular and cell biology,
biochemistry), working on multiple projects simultaneously.
