Subject: 17.02.08 Postdoctoral Position in Protein Interaction Modeling, University of Massachusetts Medical School
We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in the lab of Professor Zhiping Weng at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. The project involves the development and application of methods for the prediction of protein-protein interaction. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in computational chemistry and algorithm development. Possible topics are development of scoring functions, refinement of modeled protein-protein structures, benchmarking, and algorithm development. To apply, please send a cover letter to zhipingweng(_)gmail.com along with research interests, curriculum vitae and names/contact information of three references. Qualifications: Ph.D. in computational chemistry, biophysics, structural biology, or bioinformatics. Experience with computer programming, e.g., Python, C, C++, or Fortran. Experience with protein structure modeling. Good communication skills, team player, but also able to work independently. Familiarity with protein-protein complex structure, scoring function development, docking algorithms, and/or protein structure prediction is a plus.NOTE THAT E-MAIL ADDRESSES HAVE BEEN MODIFIED!!!
