Schrödinger, a technology leader specializing in software solutions for life science research and development, is looking for a highly skilled scientist with at least a BSc or equivalent to join our team in our office in downtown Portland, Oregon to advance our widely used rapid pKa and protonation state prediction applications. The ideal candidate will exploit their knowledge of organic chemistry and programming skills to improve predictions, particularly for new classes of medicines, and streamline the parametrization procedures used in our models. While the position involves working as part of a team of highly trained scientists, the drive to excel and the ability to think critically are key for this position.

Required qualifications include:

  • BSc or MSc in chemistry, biochemistry or chemical engineering
  • Ability to interpret and apply a wide range of organic chemistry nomenclature
  • Python and C/C++ programming experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with molecular modeling
  • A solid knowledge of heterocyclic chemistry
  • Exposure to medicinal chemistry
