In this full-time position in our downtown office in Montreal, Canada, you will participate in building, extending, and maintaining CCGs products. As a member of Research and Development, you will apply your expert programming skills, diagnostic and analytical abilities, and technical knowledge to see projects through from conception to release. Anticipate opportunities to develop infrastructure at all levels and to exercise and deepen your programming expertise in such specialized areas as high-performance optimization, parallel and distributed programming, and cross-platform technologies. Plan to become an expert in SVL, the scientific vector language, and to also acquire knowledge of computational and medicinal chemistry and biologics. Chemical Computing Group (CCG) is a life science software company that provides state-of the-art drug discovery software for major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies around the world. Main Responsibilities: - Design, implement, test. validate, and maintain applications and extensions to CCG products - Research, implement, verify, and optimize new approaches to computer-assisted drug discovery - Write specifications, reports, and technical documentation - Provide technical assistance to the scientific support team Skills and Experience: - Five (5) or more years professional software development experience in systems and applications programming - Experience with all phases of the software development cycle - Expert knowledge of C and Java is an asset - Knowledge of vector-oriented languages, parallel and distributed computing, 3D graphics, graphics drivers, and scientific software is an asset Requirements: - Exceptional programming skills - Proven working experience in developing, implementing and maintaining software - Expert knowledge in specialized fields such as GUI design, widget toolkits, networks, language design, compilers, graph theory, numerical analysis, I/O, and databases - Advanced degree in a technical discipline, such as Computational Chemistry, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Applied Mathematics Please send your resume and cover letter by email to ccgjobs*chemcomp.com, with R&D SSD in the subject line.
