POST DOCTORAL Positions in Computational Chemistry/Bioinformatics-Computer Programmer, Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington DC, USA 

Computational Chemistry Position:
My lab. seek highly talented people for the research projects include docking
simulations, application of in-house developed algorithm to the drug
screening, database management & analysis, molecular dynamics
simulations, coding, development & application of computational methods
and systems biology. 

Qualifications:
- PhD or Masters degree in the field of Computational Chemistry, Physics,
  Chemistry or closely related discipline.

- Desire to work independently as well as collaboratively in teams composed
  of members with expertise in chemistry, medicinal chemistry, systems
  biology, physics, and biology.


Desired skills:
Previous experience in commercially available molecular modeling and
simulation software packages such as SYBYL, Schrodinger. Experience in
performing docking simulations. Experience in MD Simulations. Experience in
QSAR. Experience in C++, JAVA, PERL, PYTHON, and Shell scripting. Experience
in protein structure prediction.  Excellent scientific communication skills. 

Bioinformatics/Computer Programmer Position:
My lab. seek highly talented people for the bioinformatics projects include
further development of in-house chemical and clinical informatics database,
bid-data applications, automation of in-house computational methods spanning
computational chemistry to systems biology. 

Qualifications:
- Masters degree or PhD. in the field of computer science, bioinformatics,
  computational biology, or closely related discipline

- Desire to work independently as well as collaboratively in teams composed
  of members with expertise in chemistry, medicinal chemistry, systems
  biology, physics, and biology.

Desired skills:
Previous experience in web-based database development front/Back-end,
responsible for rebuilding web based database into a modern web-framework, as
well as customizing the front-end (web user interface). Needs to be familiar
with Python, Javascript, and website design (HTML/CSS). responsible for
scaling, parallelizing, and optimizing database data search and retrieval.
They would also be responsible for server-side data processing and analysis.
Need to be experienced with Python (or similar scripting language), one or
more SQL languages, and data processing and optimization on mid-to-high data
loads. Responsible for hardware setup, networking support, software
deployment and configuration in a Linux environment. This staff member will
need prior experience with Linux administration (Redhat/CentOS), database and
web-servers.


The appointment is available for one year, and may be renewable.
