Subject: 16.04.28 Postdoctoral Position in Protein Interaction Modeling
We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in the lab of Dr. Zhiping Weng at the University
of Massachusetts Medical School. The project involves the development and application of methods
for the prediction of protein-protein interaction, and is in collaboration with Dr. Yang Zhang of the
University of Michigan. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in
algorithm development. Possible topics are the development of scoring functions, the structural
refinement of protein-protein structures, and benchmarking and pipeline development. To apply,
please send a cover letter to zhipingweng##gmail.com along with research interests, curriculum
vitae and names/contact information of three references.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in computational chemistry, structural biology, or bioinformatics.

Extensive programming experience, preferably including C, C++, or Fortran.

Experience with protein structure modeling.

Good communication skills, team player, but also able to work independently.

Familiarity with protein-protein complex structure, scoring function development,
docking algorithms, and/or protein structure prediction is a plus.
