Subject: 16.04.02 Research Scientist Position in Drug Discovery
A research scientist position in drug discovery is available at the MMDDLab (Molecular Modeling and Drug Design Laboratory, www.mmddlab.unimore.it, PI Prof. Giulio Rastelli) of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. Successful applicants will use computational techniques to design allosteric inhibitors of protein kinases. The applicant will work in strict collaboration with a team of researchers covering chemical synthesis, biology, pharmacology and crystallography expertise. Applicants must have an outstanding record of research, strong communication skills, and an ability to collaborate effectively. Applicants must hold a PhD in drug design, medicinal chemistry or a related field, and must have proven expertise in computational tools and approaches for drug design, such as structure-based and ligand-based drug design, virtual screening, docking, molecular dynamics, pharmacophore analysis, hit2lead and lead optimization. Previous experience in protein kinases is a strong plus. A good knowledge of scientific English is required.
