Accelrys is a leading provider of scientific business intelligence software 
to the world's major pharmaceutical, biotechnology, nanotechnology and 
academic organisations. Working with one of our key clients, you will take 
responsibility for undertaking proprietary and collaborative computational 
research projects involving time series QSAR. 

As part of our clients Computational Chemistry team you will continue a 
collaborative research programme to maximise the utilisation and return from 
QSAR methods.  Potential projects areas include: definition of local models 
by compound series; evaluation of different descriptor sets for compound 
design; and evaluation of different machine learning methods in prediction.

This challenging role calls for a first degree in Chemistry or a related 
science discipline and a PhD in Computational Chemistry, Cheminformatics, 
Molecular Modelling or a computer related science (we will accept 
applications from those who are soon to be PhD qualified). Your knowledge 
will span UNIX environments, Cheminformatics and/or small molecule modelling, 
QSAR modelling techniques and at least one multivariate supervised QSAR 
method. 

You will need to be confident, driven and self-motivated with excellent 
interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work 
independently in an often challenging environment.
