The Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) once again invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of computational chemistry, specifically in the area of quantum modeling of reactions. These postdoctoral researchers will join Professor Brothers' group at TAMUQ in Doha, Qatar, in a 12-month, full-time position. These positions are avialable immediately. In cooperation with the Qatar Foundation, TAMUQ occupies a new state-of-the-art 595,000 square foot building. The TAMUQ chemistry program is fully equipped with a broad array of modern instrumentation and excellent supercomputing resources. The positions are part of a collaboration between Professor Michael Hall at Texas A&M University and Professor Brothers at TAMUQ to develop new DFT-based methods to model reaction barriers, and to apply these methods to nickel dithiolenes. A brief overview of the project can be found at: http://qnrf.info/awarded/nprp/2/index.php?ELEMENT_ID=784. The successful candidates will be a computational chemists or physicists with experience in density functional theory and applying modern electronic structure methods, who are capable of independent work and possess strong work ethic. The candidate will be expected to be team players, conform to safety guidelines, and will be required to extensively publish and present results at conferences. Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate will have earned a Ph.D. in computational chemistry or a related field, and be prepared to join an international team of highly motivated scientists. Strong English communication and writing skills are necessary. Salary: The compensation package is particularly generous and commensurate with experience and qualifications; beyond salary, the benefits package includes housing, utilities, health insurance, tax support and schooling for qualified dependents. All @ signs were changed to (~) to fight spam. Before you send e-mail, you need to change (~) to @ For example: change joe(~)big123comp.com to joe@big123comp.com Please let your prospective employer know that you learned about the job from the Computational Chemistry List Job Listing at http://www.ccl.net/jobs. If you are not interested in this particular position yourself, pass it to someone who might be -- some day they may return the favor. |
