Job Description:
Amgen is seeking a dynamic individual to apply molecular
modeling and computational chemistry techniques towards advancement
of small-molecule programs. As part of interdisciplinary project
teams, the individual will apply computational ligand-based and
structure-based drug design methods in close collaboration with
medicinal chemists and biologists. The ideal individual will be
a creative, detail-oriented problem solver with a strong interest
in drug discovery and an excellent track record in molecular modeling
and computational chemistry.
Basic Qualifications:
* Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry or related fields.
* Experience with one or more molecular modeling tools
(Sybyl, MOE, Accelrys, Schrodinger, OpenEye, Chimera, etc.).
* Minimum of 3 scientific publications or conference presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
* A keen understanding of the physical chemical properties of
small-molecules and its interactions with proteins.
* Strong track record of research accomplishment.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Experience working on a medicinal chemistry project in a
biopharmaceutical setting.
