Postdoctoral Position in Coarse-Grained Modeling

A postdoctoral position is available in the Computational Biochemistry
and Biophysics Group in the Department of Biochemistry at Kansas State
University to conduct research on coarse-grained modeling of proteins
and their interaction with biological membranes.

The ideal candidate must have:

(1)Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, or related fields with a strong background
   in biophysics

(2)Extensive experience with CHARMM and/or Gromacs

(3)Substantial experience in protein and/or biological membrane simulation

Successful applicants will also have strong computational skills,
including scientific programming experience and experience with UNIX
environments. An ideal candidate would be highly competent in a number
of programming and scripting languages such as C++, FORTRAN, perl, and
python. Candidate must also display exceptional motivation and the ability
and desire to work both independently and as part of a team. Good oral and
written communication skills are essential.

The position will be available beginning August 2008. The initial
appointment is one year and might be renewed depending on mutual interest.
