Principal Pharmaceutical Process Specialist

Description: 

Provide expertise and execution in the following areas:

* New Product Package Development (Primary and Secondary)

* New Product Technology Transfer, including development, stability and
  clinical packaging.

* New Product Packaging Troubleshooting

* Provide expertise towards the improvement/optimization of 
  manufacturing/packaging processes for existing products to achieve
  lowest cost of goods of consistent quality. 

* Provide expertise towards process optimization/process development
  associated with deviations, stability failures, environmental excursions,
  customer complaints, out of specification results, calibration 
  discrepancies, and raw material, intermediate, and final product testing
  failures.  To take a leadership role in project management, from project
  planning through coordination of activities, managing project staff. 

* Must have an excellent ability to project manage a cross-functional
  team in-parallel to execution of a specific project/projects.    

* Knowledgeable of equipment design and production equipment capabilities. 

* To support Packaging operations by identifying and following to
  completion, projects focused on the improvement of packaging
  manufacturing capabilities, and to apply continuous improvement
  methods in the review of manufacturing standards and methods. 

* To support Product Technical Transfers, inclusive of generating
  protocols for engineering studies and development of manufacturing
  protocols and coordinating activities between Research, Quality
  Assurance, and production. 

* To conduct investigations of batch record variances and generate
  variance investigation reports, and to determine the causes and
  corrective actions to be taken. 

* To coordinate and participate in activities of the manufacturing
  support groups, to bring the process of problem analysis to fruition
  instituting corrective and preventative actions. 

Qualifications: 
- BS in Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or Physical/Life Sciences. 

- 7 or more years experience in pharmaceutical packaging or
  manufacturing environment. 

- Must possess knowledge of requirements of a GMP environment and FDA
  regulations

- Must be able to participate in FDA inspections. 

- Must possess a working knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing
  and/or packaging equipment and materials. 

- Proven success in project and time management skills. 

- Must work independently with little management oversight. 

- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and
  have the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely. 

- Must have strong analytical and problem solving capabilities. 

- Must have excellent interpersonal skills. 

- Must have strong organizational skills and be capable of
  coordinating multiple activities between departments to accomplish
  required goals. 

- Project management experience is strongly desired. 

- BSME ChemE or BSIE preferred.
