Application is invited for a postdoctoral position starting July
2008 or later in Molecule & Life Nonlinear Sciences Laboratory
Research Institute for Electronic Science, Hokkaido University - JAPAN.
The initial appointment will be for one year with reappointment for the
second year by mutual agreement.


(1) Research fields

1 - collective motions and hydrodynamics of liquid water in the vicinity
of protein and their dynamical role relevant to functions.
2 - single molecule time series analysis: extraction of the underlying
multiscale complex network or an effective free energy landscape.

(2) Qualification
Ideal candidates would have a strong background in either dynamical
system theory, nonequilibrium statistical mechanics, molecular dynamics
simulation or related disciplines. Experience in advanced
programming skills (C, Fortran, Perl), familiarity with UNIX/Linux
operating system, and an interest in developing new methodologies are
preferred.  A Ph.D. in /physics/mathematics/chemistry/biophysics, or in
a related discipline is required.

(3) term
The term can be extended from 2008 July through 2010 June (for the
second year by mutual agreement).
