RESEARCH SCIENTIST

Chemical Abstracts Service, a division of the American Chemical Society, 
has an immediate opening for a team-oriented individual in its Planning 
and Development division for a Research Scientist.  The candidate will 
have access to Registry, the largest chemical repository in the world.  
As a member of the Research team, you will apply state-of-the-art 
techniques in chemical informatics, software development and 
data-mining toward the goal of solving todays chemical information needs.

An advanced degree, M.S. or PhD, in chemistry or computer science or a 
chemistry degree with a minor in computer science is preferred.  You 
must have knowledge of chemical structure representation and an 
awareness of emerging technologies in the field of chemical informatics.  
A strong working knowledge of one or more programming languages is 
required, with Java being preferred.

We are looking for a Research team member who understands the chemical 
information needs of our customers. You will need strong written and 
oral communication skills, and the ability to manage priorities in a 
time sensitive environment.  Knowledge of CAS products is a plus.
