Job Description:
Biogen IDEC is seeking a Ph.D.-level scientist with expertise in applying
molecular modeling and structure-based design techniques to protein and
small molecule drug discovery, to be based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
This scientist will work closely with experimental scientists as part of
multiple project teams, to discover drug candidates and optimize their
properties. This individual will proactively identify gaps in the current
modeling approaches and implement innovative computational solutions to
protein and small-molecule drug discovery problems.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in molecular modeling or computer-aided drug design, with a
minimum of 3 years of industrial experience;
- Proven track record in structure-based protein engineering and/or
small-molecule drug design and optimization;
- Knowledge of statistical ligand-based modeling techniques including
QSAR, and ADMET modeling;
- Solid understanding of experimental biology and chemistry;
- Excellent team-working, communication and presentation skills.
