Working within a team of developers and chemical data scientists, you will 
be responsible for developing and supporting a range of scientific 
applications across the business, interacting with scientists to interpret 
requirements accurately and develop effective solutions.  

With good experience of developing software in Java you will be comfortable 
working independently to agreed requirements in a structured environment.
You should be familiar with using and building informatics software, and 
you should be able to gather, understand, and interpret scientific 
requirements and turn them into application solutions.

Ideally you will have a good understanding of database technologies 
preferably Oracle), and experience of Microsoft and Linux platforms. 
Knowledge of the following would be an advantage:
  
	Chemical data cartridges (preferably JChem)
	Enterprise Java Beans
	Web based application development
	Oracle development (SQL, PL/SQL, Java Application Server)

work on your own initiative.
