To support its research strategy, the BioAnalytical Science Department at the NRC is seeking a: Scientist in Structural Bioinformatics who will manage the Computational Molecular Science Technology of the Bioinformatics group. You will have to actively manage a project portfolio where the Computational Molecular Science technology is applied and will have to regularly meet and inform clients at NRC on the advancement of the projects. In its current setup the technology includes protein modeling, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics simulations. Within the Bioinformatics group you will work in interaction with experts in protein sequence annotation and will apply protein structural prediction methods to derive the 3D structure of enzymes and receptors that can be used in computational molecular docking experiments and that are relevant for the development of new nutritional products. In the same time you will be an accomplished scientist and will have to define and execute a research program for the discovery and computational modeling of the bioactivities of functional peptides, as well as for modeling their interactions with relevant enzymes and receptors.
