Postdoctoral Research Associate: Computer Modelling of Glasses for Radiotherapy

An EPSRC-funded postdoctoral research position is available for up to three years to work with Dr
Antonio Tilocca in a computational material science project, "Alumino- and bioactive-silicate glasses as
effective yttrium carriers for in situ radiotherapeutic applications", at the Department of Chemistry,
University College London, UK.

The post involves developing and applying computational methods to study the structural and dynamical
properties of yttrium-containing silicate glasses, in order to rationalise their potential for
radiotherapeutic applications. Further details can be found at:

Applicants should have a PhD in chemistry, physics, material science or a closely related subject, with
a strong computational component. The candidate must have a proven track-record in the application of
computational chemistry methods to problems in the physical sciences. Experience with classical and/or
ab-initio Molecular Dynamics codes is highly desirable; experience with high performance computing
architectures and computer programming are also desirable but not essential.
