Subject: 08.02.26 Sr. Scientist Computational Drug Discovery, London, Ontario, Canada
COTI presently has an opportunity for a Senior Scientist who can, in time,
assume the day-to-day responsibility for the development of new predictive
modelling systems, molecular profiling and selection of drug candidates in
addition to the identification of new high potential project for COTI and
its partners.

This position will appeal to a recent graduate from a PhD program in
molecular biology, pharmacology or medicinal chemistry who is
intellectually flexible, willing to challenge more traditional methods
and work at the next frontier of drug discovery.

This challenging position will require a person with a deep and current
knowledge of the principles of molecular pharmacology and drug discovery
coupled with an understanding of computerized statistical modelling
processes.

COTI is located in London, Ontario, a centre of excellence in
South-Western Ontarios medical system. COTI offers competitive
compensation and in service training opportunities.

If this opportunity appeals to you and you would like to explore the
possibility of working with COTI, please contact Blake Bexon,

COTI respond to all applications that we receive.

Position Description

Position title
Senior Scientist

Reports to
Chief Scientific Officer/President

Responsibilities and Objectives
1.	Develop new modelling systems

Add new molecules to the database

Add new descriptors to the model

Develop a training set for artificial intelligence.
Build new predictive models (eg ADME) that are specific
for such things as disease,% absorption, metabolic fate,
                etc.

2.	Develop new projects for COTI

Work with the Scientific Advisory Board, the Management
Committee and the Chief Scientific Officer to identify
potential new projects both for in-house applications
as well as custom projects for clients

Identify an appropriate target, assemble the requisite
drug database and develop a proposal for consideration
by customers and/or senior corporate management.

3.	Profile, optimize and select drug candidates

Working closely with the Chief Scientific Office, use
the computational modelling system to select drug
                candidates.

4.	Collaborate with Computer Programmer

Provide guidance and direction to the Computer Programmer
using a high level understanding of database structure,
querying and intelligent structured database searches.

Supervise the creation of a table format that represents
the structure of molecules in the database.

Provide descriptions of molecules to be evaluated using
                chemical drawing and editing software.
