Chem. Conf. 11/8-9 \ | / SOUTHWEST THEORETICAL CHEMISTRY CONFERENCE \|/ ---X--- NOVEMBER 8 & 9, 1991 /|\ / | \ The University of Texas at Dallas SW The annual Southwest Theoretical Chemistry Conference will be held on November 8 and 9, 1991 at the headquarters of Convex Computer Corporation which are located on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, a suburb north of Dallas. All theoretical chemists are cordially invited to participate. TECHNICAL PROGRAM: A call for papers will be made with the next meeting notice. The schedule of speakers and topics will be posted to all those who indicate a desire to be on the meeting mailing list. (See below.) There will be both lecture and poster sessions. The lectures will be 20 to 30 minutes in length. Graduate students and postdoctoral associates are especially urged to participate, but because of time limitations, many of their presentations will be poster sessions. There will also be a special invited lecture by Bill Miller of the University of California at Berkeley. All scientific sessions will be held in the Auditorium at Convex Computer Corporation at 3000 Waterview Parkway, Richardson, Texas. We anticipate that the conference and its brief business meeting will last through the end of the afternoon on Saturday, November 9th. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Conference fees will be $20 for faculty ($15 for students and postdocs) which will include the Thursday evening Reception (cash bar) at the Holiday Inn, the Friday evening Barbecue 'n' Brew at Convex, and the normal conference amenities (abstracts, refreshments, etc.). Holiday Inn reservations will be accepted for $48 per night (1 to 2 persons). Holiday Inn will provide transportation to the conference site. Super Shuttle will provide round-trip transport from the airports for about $25 given individual arrivals to and group departures from the hotel. Convex is pleased to co-host this year's conference. Of course, Convex is keenly interested in theoretical chemists becoming aware of the capabilities of its platforms and systems. Thus, they are eager to run computational chemistry benchmarks of our attendees' choice on a first-come-first-served basis. Convex will also host tours and hold seminars for any groups interested in their products and services. A subsequent announcement will detail how to take advantage of these offers and multi-task the conference.
