Abstract submission for QBIC-VI (6th Quantum Bio-Inorganic Chemistry Conference) is now open!

The 6th Quantum Bio-Inorganic Chemistry Conference will be held from 29.08 to 01.09.2023 in Warsaw, 
Poland. The 2023 conference follows the previous QBIC meetings in Warwick (1999), Lund (2003), Cesky 
Krumlov (2011), Bath (2018), and Marseille (2019). QBIC-VI is the third meeting organized since the 
founding of the Quantum Bioinorganic Chemistry Society (https://www.qbicsoc.org/). 

The scientific focus of the conference is on computational inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry, covering 
theoretical methods, novel applications, and combined computational/experimental approaches. 

The conference is organized jointly by the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences 
(IChF) in Warsaw, and the Laboratory of Chemistry and Biology of Metals (LCBM), French Alternative 
Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).

As announced during the last German Conference on Cheminformatics (GCC) in
May 2022 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the executive board decided to embed the
next annual meeting into the largest congress of the GDCh, the
Wissenschaftsforum (WiFo) 2023, Sep 4-6, 2023 in Leipzig, Germany
(https://www.wifo2023.de, https://www.wifo2023.de/en).

The CIC Annual Meeting will take place on Tue, Sep 5, 2023, covering the core
topics of the CIC Division, ranging from quantum mechanics over molecular
simulation quantum mechanics to artificial intelligence in drug discovery,
chemistry, and material science. The meeting will be composed of three
sessions, each of which will be introduced by invited speakers:
- Alain Vaucher (IBM Research, Switzerland)
- Antonia Mey (University of Edinburgh, UK)
- Thomas Fox (Boehringer-Ingelheim, Germany)
	
We are offering several slots for short contributed oral communications
(12 min lecture plus 3 min discussion) within each session on Tue, Sep 5, and
also encourage you to participate by submitting posters for the session on
Mon, Sep 4. We will also celebrate years recipients of the CIC Award for
Computational Chemistry.

Of further interest to the CIC community are two sessions featuring exciting
talks on Mon, Sep 4:
Robots in Chemistry (jointly organized with the GDCh Division of Medicinal
Chemistry, invited lectures only):
- Werngard Czechtizky (AstraZeneca, Sweden)
- Ildiko Terebesi, Carl-Helmut Coulon (INVITE, Germany)
- Ross King (University of Cambridge, UK)
	
Research Data Infrastructure (featuring NFDI consortia relevant to the
CIC community, invited lectures only)
