The scholarship is awarded to outstanding graduate and postdoctoral students working in cheminformatics and chemical information addressing problems around knowledge representation, management and modeling. The award seeks to identify novel uses of chemical information (structure and associated data such as physical properties or biological activities) and use of methods to characterize and visualize such information. Applications of methodologies from related fields such as data science, statistics and computer science are welcome. In addition to rewarding novel research, the award aims to foster involvement of awardees in CINF activities. Up to three scholarships valued at $1,000 each will be presented at the 257th ACS National Meeting in Orlando, FL, March 31 - April 4, 2019. Applicants must be enrolled at a certified college or university and must present a poster during the Welcoming Reception of the Division on Sunday evening at the National Meeting. To apply, please submit your abstract at https://callforpapers.acs.org/orlando2019/CINF by Monday, October 29 and inform the Chair of the selection committee, Elsa Alvaro at elsa.alvaro=northwestern.edu, that you are applying for a scholarship. Additionally, please send a 2,000-word abstract describing the work to be presented in electronic form to the Chair of the selection committee by Friday, February 15. Winners will be chosen by a committee based on the long abstract, presentation and relevance of the poster and they will be announced during the Welcoming Reception of the Division.
