GAUSSIAN 03 FOR WINDOWS VERSUS GAUSSIAN 03 FOR LINUX. IS A CALCULATION ON AS LINUX PLATEFORM FASTER. HyperChem contains a lot of MM, QM and MD, conformation search methods etc. It is made user friendly - but this means that you are bound to the built methods, options, often cannot experience according to your own wishes. So these are fine for educational purposes or to make routine calculations for non-expert users. For specialization and subtle methods there are a lot of free utilities out there. Its user interface is fairly friendly, but is in need of a strong face-lift, for example the complete lack of undo is a great nuisance when editing molecules (speaking about version 7.1).
