Please see: GRC: August 11-16, 2013, University of New England, Maine, USA http://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?year=2013&program=tddft GRS: August 10-11, 2013 http://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?year=2013&program=grs_tddft The TDDFT Gordon Research Conference (GRC) will be held at the University of New England, Biddeford, Maine, from August 11-16, 2013. The GRC has become one of the most important and exciting meetings in TDDFT over recent years. The most recent advances in the theory and its applications, from electronic spectra and response to fully time-dependent dynamics, the most pressing challenges, as well as new directions for development and applications will be discussed. We have an outstanding group of invited speakers and discussion leaders. For the preliminary program, other meeting details, including registration/application information, please see: http://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?year=2013&program=tddft For the first time, we are holding a Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) during the weekend immediately prior to the conference, August 10-11, 2013, which we are also very enthusiastic about! The GRS is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange novel results and cutting edge ideas. The focus is on fundamental aspects of TDDFT, excitations and dynamics in the linear and non-linear regime, and coupled electron-ion dynamics from first principles. We invite young researchers engaged in TDDFT and related fields to submit an abstract; please visit http://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?year=2013&program=grs_tddft for more details and the application/registration information. The conference site is a beautiful small campus on the seashore, only 20 miles from Portland International Jetport (PWM) and 98 miles from Boston Logan Airport (BOS). Bus service from Boston Logan Airport to the conference site and back will be provided. The guiding principle of a Gordon Conference is the presentation of new, unpublished work and the free, unhampered discussion that follows. The friendly, open, and lively atmosphere that has prevailed in our previous conferences will foster constructive scientific exchanges throughout the week, and during the Gordon Seminar, both in the discussions following talks, poster sessions, and more informally. We encourage you to visit the website and apply for what is shaping up to be a most exciting conference and seminar: http://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?year=2013&program=tddft and http://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?year=2013&program=grs_tddft With best regards, Hardy Gross and Neepa Maitra (GRC chairs) Florian Eich and Stefano Pittalis (GRS chairs) -------------------------------------- Neepa Maitra Associate Professor, Department of Physics and Astronomy Hunter College and the City University of New York Rm 1214E North Building 695 Park Ave, New York, NY 10065, USA. nmaitra-at-hunter.cuny.edu phone: 212-650-3518 fax: 212-772-5390 http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/physics/faculty/maitra/home From owner-chemistry@ccl.net Tue Jan 15 13:09:00 2013 From: "Jacek Korchowiec korchow++chemia.uj.edu.pl" To: CCL Subject: CCL: CTTC VI Conference, Krakow, Poland, 01-05.09 2013. The conference will take place in Krakow (Poland). It is scheduled for 1-5 September 2013. Our conference fits well to the conference calendar of 2013. Just before CTTC VI, there will be the VIIIth Congress of the International Society of Theoretical Chemical Physics (ISTCP-VIII) in Budapest, scheduled for 25-31 August. After our conference, there will be 15th International Conference on Density Functional Theory and its Applications (Durham, UK, 9-13 September 2013). We hope that the above information will allow you to take a decision to participate in CTTC VI. The CTTC VI will cover various aspects of theoretical chemistry from basic theory and methodological developments to applications. The following topics will be addressed at the conference: - Electron Correlation - Density Functional Theory (DFT) - Time-dependent DFT - Low order scaling SCF methods - Molecular response properties - Molecular dynamics - Modeling catalytic processes - Modeling biological systems The CTTC-VI conference will gather invited and keynote lectures. It will also provide the opportunity to other participants to present and discuss their works in oral and poster contributions. CONTACT: cttc6#chemia.uj.edu.pl CTTC VI WEB PAGE: www.chemia.uj.edu.pl/cttc6 IMPORTANT DATES: Abstract submission: 31 May 2013. Final registration and payments: 15 June 2013 All details about the conference may be found at www.chemia.uj.edu.pl/cttc6. Please feel free to forward this invitation to any potentially interested colleagues. We look forward to seeing you in Krakow. Krakow is one of the top tourist attraction in Europe. More than 2 millions foreign tourists and 5 million domestic tourists visit Krakow every year. Its old centre is on the UNESCO List of World Heritage. Krakow offers a unique atmosphere both for regular sight-seeing and for leisurely strolls.
