Normally, a ratio denoted by meu (Cartesian nonlinear anisotrpy) is used as a relevant criterion for 2-D NLO character which is a ratio between Off-diagonal (zyy) and Diagonal (zzz) components of NLO chromophores. Now my question is, in my case some off-diagonal components are with negative sign by Finite Field method, and I am wandering about the sign of meu. Is it absolute value that does not depend upon signs of the component values?because some time we determine sing of beta indepedently developed "Two level model". For example Meu=Betazyy/Betazzz that would be meu=-324/2966 =9.13 is it ok to right like this? Thanks for any response.
