Description:
Ewha Womans University (http://www.ewha.ac.kr/mbs/ewhaen/index.jsp) is one
of the most prestigious universities in South Korea. Ewha has continued to
evolve throughout its more than 130-year history and now, it became the
largest women's university in the world with 25,000 enrolled students. The
College of Pharmacy in Ewha is the oldest and largest school of pharmacy in
Korea with a history of more than seventy years of Pharmacy education.
Moreover, only the top 1% of excellent students in Korea enter the College
of Pharmacy, and our graduates now number over 10,000.

Through collaborative efforts in molecular modeling and medicinal chemistry,
our research spans various projects encompassing computer-aided drug design
(CADD), cheminformatics, computational medicinal chemistry, and
biomolecular simulations. Employing these cutting-edge methodologies, we
develop innovative strategies for drug discovery targeting
neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, bacterial and viral infections,
cardiovascular conditions, osteoporosis, and more. Our approach is tailored
to specific target systems, with ongoing studies covering diverse areas
such as docking and binding mode analysis, active site and pharmacophore
elucidation, exploration of structure-activity relationships, and
prediction of activity, properties, and toxicity. Furthermore, our research
extends to the construction of chemical libraries, molecular design (both
target structure- and ligand-based), analysis of high-throughput screening
data, hit/lead optimization, exploration of molecular interactions and
mechanisms, and the integration of big data and artificial intelligence
(AI) in drug discovery. The excellence of our research is underscored by
our frequent publication in esteemed journals such as the Journal of the
American Chemical Society, Cell Metabolism, Angewandte Chemie, Journal of
Medicinal Chemistry, and Theranostics. Recognized as a National Leading
Research Laboratory (NLRL) by the Korean government, we are core members of
the Global AI Drug Discovery Center, leading the field in drug discovery.
